The first round of the Welsh Mountain Bike series kicked off at Llandegla Forest at the weekend and produced some thrilling and exciting racing with Giles Drake (Peak Road Club) and Ruby Miller (Hope Factory Racing) taking victory in the elite men and women’s race respectively.
But elsewhere under 6’s all the way through to the Grand Vets took to the tough Llandegla Forest course, as the first round of the series got underway with a bang in North Wales.
In what will no doubt be a hotly fought series across the four rounds, Llandegla was the perfect start as the 4km circuit had a bit of everything.
A tough opening climb with some technical descents – the course had it all and with a great spectator turn out, excitement will build as we head towards the next round of the series at Pembrey, Llangattock and Llandysul.
