SAFE CYCLING WITH THE FAMILY AT CARDIFF LLANDAFF FIELDS EVENTS
Let’s Ride Pop-Up Cardiff is a FREE child friendly event run by experienced coaches every last Sunday of each month between May – November 2018.
This Sunday 28th October, the event will be taking place at Llandaff Fields near the City Centre and runs between 11am to 1pm. Perfect for a Free activity as the school holidays break out.
WHAT IS LETS RIDE?
Lets ride is an organised cycling activity that is ideal for the whole family to enjoy cycling together. The event aims to provide a safe and friendly route for cyclists of all abilities (with or without stabilisers, both are welcome) to ride at a pace they want, and as many times as they want. All we ask is that children under 16 are accompanied by an adult on the route.
WHAT HAPPENS AT LETS RIDE?
On the day of the event, we will have an experienced HSBC UK Go-Ride coach on site to help improve your cycling skills. The coach this weekend is Gareth Thomas who lives in Radyr, Gareth is a family man himself and knows the concerns of parents teaching their kids to ride. Gareth has planned the session to run two 45 minute sessions within the tennis courts at Llandaff Fields, which will be focusing on start, stop, turning and signalling throughout the session depending on the child’s ability.
Anyone over the age of 5+ can join in, our aim is to help families build confidence in cycling and make it fun.
WHAT DO YOU NEED?
We encourage the family to bring their own bike with them on the day; nevertheless, if you don’t have a bike with you, and would love to join in for the session, there is bike rental available at Pedal Power within 10 min walking distance, and NextBike docking station at the entrance to Llandaff Fields.
