Following the realignment of the role, purpose and structure of the British Cycling Board, Welsh Cycling is seeking a person to be their nomination to British Cycling Board.

The nominated person will bring independent judgement to bear on issues of Welsh Cycling strategy, performance, and resources. This includes key appointments and standards of conduct, which further the aims and objectives set out in Welsh Cycling’s Memorandum and Articles of Association.

The British Cycling's Board’s role and purpose is to govern the organisation’s performance, set the direction and provide leadership within a framework of prudent and effective controls which enable risk and performance to be effectively assessed and managed.

Following the Cycling Independent Review and the decision of British Cycling’s National Council to make important changes to the organisation’s Memorandum and Articles of Association and its Bye Laws (in conjunction with the new Code of Governance for Sport), a realignment of the role, purpose and structure of the Board and also that of National Council has now been implemented.

The members of the Board are:
Chair of the Board - appointed by the Board’s Nomination & Remuneration Committee;
Four Elected Directors - nominated and elected by representative National Councillors;
Three Independent Directors- appointed by the Board’s Nomination & Remuneration
Committee;
A Director nominated by the Scottish Cyclists’ Union.
A Director nominated by the Welsh Cycling Union;
A Director nominated by the England Regions

Please note that subject to proposed changes to the Welsh Cycling articles for the September 2018 AGM , this position may also be a Welsh Cycling Director.

Both positions are expenses only and closing date is the 5pm on 6 August 2018.
