North Cardiff based HSBC UK Go-Ride Club Whitchurch CC were presented with their clubmark by the Cardiff born Team Sky Riders.

Developed just two years ago, the aim of the cycling club was to offer both a Go-Ride and social cycling provision for the North Cardiff area. Within this time, the club has grown from strength to strength with five trained coaches and a number of ride leaders.

South Wales Development Officer at Welsh Cycling, Dan Coast said "As a club they have fully embraced the principles of Go-Ride, providing great coaching that introduces young riders to a number of disciplines.

"From coach led Go Ride racing and assisting with Welsh Cycling’s Drit crit programme, all of their activity as a club has led a number of riders to become fully embedded into the sport competing regularly across a number of disciplines".

The club have also supported the recreational side of the sport offering opportunities for the whole family to take part in a range of rides and sessions and social opportunities, one of which saw the club work closely with Pedal Power to host rides ahead of the Tour of Britain’s visit into Cardiff.

The club mark, presented by Team Sky Riders Geraint and Owain helps to ensure the clubs procedures are robust and able to continue.
