Initially, three riders will represent Wheelbase Altura MGD with new signing James Harmon joining first year under 23 rider Jack Humphreys fresh from his recent successful cyclo-cross season along with Joseph Richards who will bring his experience to the trio. James’s cycling background is in downhill and BMX where he has achieved success at regional and national level. After a strong first season within cross-country he sees the advantages of working with other riders under the Wheelbase banner where he can share his skills and learn from the experience of others. The 2013 season will see the team develop processes and training regimes with the emphasis on ensuring good preparation and organisation. It is hoped that this will lead to the opportunity to expand the numbers of under 23 riders on the team for future seasons with the emphasis on developing riders who can successfully compete at the sharp end of the Elite category.’

"2013 sees the Wheelbase road, cross-country and downhill racing teams go from strength-to-strength with the introduction of some top riders and professional partners like Altura, Cannondale, Kona and MGD. We’re looking forward to an action-packed season on the race circuits both on and off road throughout the UK and Ireland," said Toby Dalton, Team Manager and Director of Wheelbase.co.uk.
