Will Longden and Katy Curd are the new British Fourcross Champions. We've got the first news of their wins, including action from the British Fourcross Series to come.

Will Longden has continued his domination of the domestic fourcross campaigns, wrapping up the British Fourcross Series and the British Fourcross Championships at South West Extreme. There was controversy on day two as Longden and defending champions Scott Beaumont came together before the first corner.

Beaumont; who seems to have had zero luck in the 2010 season with a succession of crashes and injuries, racked up another race to experience on the dry track, going off the side of the track. Longden survived and rode to the win, followed by Scott Roberts.

Katy Curd won the women's race convincingly ahead of Suzanne Lacy and Nichola Anderson.

BRITISH FOURCROSS SERIES ROUND 5

Result

Will Longden took his first win of the British Fourcross weekend in style on Saturday, coming in ahead of Scott Roberts. For Longden, it was a chance to extend his lead in the points standings to a near-unassailable one, while warming up for the British Championship showdown the day after.

Meanwhile, in the women's race Katy Curd may not be in contention for the overall title, but left little doubt of her status as Britain's best fourcross rider right now. Even the surprise appearance of BMX junior Charlotte Green couldn't startle Curd, who rode in for the win. Green was second, producing a great ride, while Series favourites Suzanne Lacey and Nichola Anderson battled on for the final podium placing.
