Frazer Clacherty came home in 15th position in the Men’s Under-23 race at the 2018 Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup series in Albstadt.

That was enough to see the 21-year-old finish as the top Brit in the race that was dominated by French duo Joshua Dubau and Antoine Philipp who finished first and second respectively.

Dubau completed the five-lap course in 1hr 17mins 48secs, 43 seconds clear of his compatriot, with Denmark’s Jonas Lindberg in third.

In wet conditions, Clacherty started well chasing the lead pack on the first lap, but soon settled into a group a little further back.

The treacherous conditions made racing difficult, and after finishing the first two laps in 13th spot, he eventually came home in 15th.

Clacherty was one of three Brits competing in the race in Germany, with Daniel Tulett and Cameron Orr a little further back as they finished in 57th and 77th respectively.
