What kind of riding do you do?

I ride the 4km individual pursuit on the track and I also compete on the road in the time-trial and road race.

What do you enjoy most about cycling?

I like the freedom that it brings on those days when you have no route planned and you just go out exploring, following your nose and seeing where the road takes you. I normally end up on a big hill!

What’s your favourite ride?

Cycling around the south of France and up to the Col de Pailheres.

What’s your top cycling tip to share?

It takes me back to my military days, but look after your equipment and it will look after you.

If you had a tandem, who would you like to ride it with?

It would have to be Peter Sagan. Descending down a big col with his bike handling skills on a tandem could only be exhilarating.
