Tom from Surrey takes his cycling inspiration from the one and only Wiggo and likes nothing better than a ride in the Surrey hills to keep fit and clear his mind.

Name: Tom Clayton

Age: 32

From: Farnham, Surrey

Club: Crondall Rouleurs

What kind of riding do you do?

Recreational riding at lunch times and weekends including the Saturday morning club run.

What do you enjoy most about cycling?

Cycling, even just for an hour, completely clears my mind of everything. It is the best remedy for feeling tired or anxious about day-to-day life and of course helps me to maintain a high level of fitness.

What’s your favourite ride?

A circuit of the Surrey hills starting and finishing in Farnham and taking in some of the tough climbs such as Barhatch Lane, Leith Hill and Whitedowns Lane.

What’s your top cycling tip to share?

If you are questioning whether or not to get out on your bike then just do it, you’ll never regret it.

If you had a tandem, who would you like to ride it with?

Wiggo – the man singlehandedly got me off the spinning bike in the gym and out onto the roads. A true inspiration.
