The final event of the Manchester Go-Ride Racing League of 2013 was played out at The National Cycling Centre: Home of British Cycling with some frills, skills and occasional spills. Over 40 riders with their club coaches from Man Tri, Mossley CRT, Manchester BMX and Glossop Kinder Velo turned up for Round 12: BMX.



During the course of the morning local club coaches, supported by Go-Ride Coaches Tom Hodgkinson and Andy Adkin, developed riders BMX techniques through a coaching session, time trial, and MOTOs. During this time all coaches witnessed some exceptional cycling techniques from riders, many of whom were trying BMX for the first time.

After the racing had finished each rider was given an award for their efforts on the day, winners received medals and parents were guided by Andy Adkin on how they could support their children into BMX coaching sessions in the City of Manchester and regional racing structures.

Looking back on another successful year for the Manchester Go-Ride Racing League, Tom Hodgkinson looks forward to 2014 "when we started the league in 2009 we had two clubs, 15 riders and one venue. We have grown considerably over this time with fantastic support from Manchester City Council, the Olympic and major events legacy, and unwavering support from committed volunteers who have seen their clubs and riders grow from strength to strength. We will be back 2014 for what will be our strongest year yet, supporting even more riders into local and regional racing structures".

2014 will see a new and improved Manchester Go-Ride Racing League website, where you will be able to find more information about events and coaching sessions that are open to youth riders, juniors, women and girls.
