Tiverton BMX club’s Go-Ride Racing series has been a huge success for locals in the area. On Thursday 18 July, Tiverton hosted a Go-Ride Racing event, involving current racers and local children.

One of Tiverton’s current riders, Taylor Sampson, aged 7, is performing particularly well. Taylor finished sixth in last year’s British championships and is currently regional number one in the South West.

Taylor says he enjoys the Go-Ride Racing events, because he can demonstrate the core skills needed in BMX racing. He has set himself many goals for the future; he wants to be a professional BMX racer when he grows up and aims to win the elite men with Gangnam Style playing in the background!

Children like Taylor have a big influence on other local children, who participate in the Go-Ride Racing events that Tiverton BMX club successfully executes. Tiverton’s Go-Ride races are part of a series throughout the summer and the next events will be held on 15 August and 12 September. Registration will open at 6pm and racing will commence at 6:45pm. See you there!

Tiverton BMX club is part of British Cycling’s Go-Ride development programme for young people. The programme provides a fun and safe way to introduce young riders to the world of cycle sport and provides a platform to improve bike handling skills. Please click here to find out more information.
