The build up to the 2013 UCI Track Cycling World Cup in Manchester has started for many of the country’s best cyclists. Young people and volunteers in Go-Ride clubs also have the opportunity to start planning their autumn and winter cycling activities, as clubs delivering two Go-Ride Racing events between 1 October 2013 and 3 March 2014, are able to put forward members of their club for a coaching day and a Go-Ride Racing day at Manchester, Newport and London Velodromes.
These venues have recently been highlighted on the world stage - Manchester is the home of the Great Britain Cycling Team and the 2013 UCI Track Cycling World Cup, and London saw the greatest show on earth in 2012 when the Olympic Games came to town. Newport has been the pre-Olympic training base for the Great Britain Cycling Team.
The iconic facilities are open for the community to experience the same thrill as the elite riders. By delivering two Go-Ride Racing activities between 1 October 2013 and 3 March 2014, members of your club can also train and race at these amazing venues. Together, we can create a legacy from events such as the track cycling world cup, with more young people accessing entry level racing within their Go-Ride clubs.
