The founding clubs of the Manchester Go-Ride Racing League are once again hosting entry level cycling events in and around Manchester.
Following the huge success of 2011, the League will once again be providing young riders with competitive competition at all levels from school to club to regional races. Last year, over 30 young riders took their first steps into competitive bike racing through the Manchester Go-Ride Racing League, with many progressing onto regional competitions; a select few even took part in a race as part of a MTB World Cup meeting at Dalby Forest in Yorkshire!
To help riders achieve a similar progress in 2012, the Manchester Go-Ride Racing League will host discipline specific racing events in the weeks prior to a regional racing event. At the end of each Go-Ride Racing event, there will be a regional race to enter on the same day, meaning younger riders can see the next step in the sport and all riders from all clubs can come to an exciting race event.
Before each race, the Manchester Go-Ride Coach will also be putting on discipline specific coaching camps for Go-Ride Racing level riders with the support of Go-Ride Clubs.
All in all, Tom Hodgkinson, British Cycling Go-Ride Coach, is expecting another fantastic year of the Manchester League “If you are new to British Cycling, Go-Ride Racing, and Regional Racing structures please come along to our first event of the league as these events are the perfect way to get started in cycle sport. Riders and clubs have never before had this amount of choice to race as a novice and advanced rider within Manchester, at British Cycling match funded facilities, and in so many different Olympic disciplines.

The events for this year are as follows:
Race 1: Circuit Race Tameside Cycle Circuit, 21st April 2012, linking in with Tameside Cycling Development Road Racing League
Race 2: MTB Race Boggart Hole Clough Park North Manchester, 26th May 2012 linking in the week before the CDNW MTB CX race and Manchester Mid Week Madness youth events
Race 3: BMX Race Platt Fields Park Central Manchester, 29th June 2012 linking with the national Cycling Centre BMX Racing League
Race 4: Cyclo Cross Phillips Park East Manchester, September 2012 under the VeloCity 3in1 CNP hosted Regional Cross Race.
Race 5: Track National Cycling Centre East Manchester, November 2012 linking with the 2013 A.C.T Track League events on Monday nights at the National Cycling Centre.
