With a week to go until the Tour de France visits our shores, even more Go-Ride Clubs across the country have been organising events for young people as part of the Go-Ride Tour.

Go-Ride Clubs are hosting over 230 ‘come and try’ events throughout the month of July, so there are masses of opportunities for young people across the country to emulate their cycling heroes.

And as the final countdown to the Grand Depart continues, British Cycling is encouraging any final clubs to register their Go-Ride Tour events and help to cement a lasting legacy.

All Go-Ride Clubs hosting an event throughout the month of July as part of the Go-Ride Tour will receive wristbands, t-shirts in the colours of the Tour de France – yellow, green, white and polka-dot – and branded barrier tape, as well as a USB stick packed with useful information and top tips on hosting races for young people.

Events like the Go-Ride Tour provide excellent focal points for new riders to engage with clubs, for existing riders to try a race for the first time and to help everyone celebrate the Tour de France with their cycling friends.

Go-Ride Clubs will also have the chance to win a jersey signed by stars on the Great Britain Cycling Team. British Cycling offers free membership to all new members of Go-Ride clubs, so young people can join the British Cycling family and be part of the team transforming cycling in the UK.

Clubs participating in the Go-Ride Tour are invited to encourage new club members to sign up for British Cycling membership. The Go-Ride Club in each British Cycling region that signs up the most new British Cycling members from 1 July to 31 August 2014 will win a jersey signed by riders from the Great Britain Cycling Team.
