The atmosphere and remarkable performances at major cycling events is unlike any other, and the Go-Ride team loves to see how these events inspire so many people to get involved in the sport.
There are major events taking place this autumn and winter across the various cycling disciplines. In addition to the cyclo-cross season, there is the UCI Track World Cup, BMX supercross and Cycle Speedway National Indoor Championships – packing the season full of amazing feats by elite athletes.
International races provide a showpiece for elite athletes, but Go-Ride clubs and Go-Ride Racing provide the place for young people to emulate their idols and experience the thrill of racing at an appropriate and fun level.
Clubs can make Go-Ride Racing activities anything they want them to be and the coming months provide many opportunities to bring a club together and have a great time, providing the chance for young riders to race like Laura Trott, Jason Kenny or Mark Cavendish. Halloween, Bonfire Night, Christmas and New Year celebrations offer many opportunities for the clubs to socialise and race with their members.
To support Go-Ride Racing throughout the autumn and winter months, the Go-Ride team has developed a package that will provide resources, facilities, ideas and major events partnerships with races such as the Track World Cup. If your club delivers Go-Ride Racing between 1 October 2013 and 3 March 2014, then you can access:
- Track coaching and Go-Ride Racing opportunities at Manchester, Newport and London Olympic Velodromes
- Indoor Coaching and Go-Ride Racing in Manchester and Sheffield English Institute of Sport
- BMX Coaching and Go-Ride Racing at Manchester Indoor and Cyclopark Outdoor BMX tracks
- Free resources, including prize packages and new Go-Ride numbered bibs
