Round 3 of the Scarborough Youth MTB Go-Ride Racing series saw Richardsons CC using one of the best venues of Dalby Forest. There was a fantastic turn out of 37 keen young riders ready for an action packed day of racing.

Once signed on and bikes checked the riders set off on practice laps of the course which included some really flowing single track

York rider Oscar Taylor took three straight race wins and Hunmanbys Ozzy Stringer taking two seconds with Saul Bateman and Guiseleys Milo Hull getting stuck in for the places. Fileys Thomas Eblet competing for the first time showed real determination to get to the finish with no gears and small wheels getting the go ride gloves as a prize.

Joe Prole and Hulls Tommy Jackson were out in front closely chased by an on form Amber Hull who took an excellent third place on the McDonalds sprint and with Edward Hopper getting the sprint race first place and Francis Hirzel getting a silver medal on race 3.

Matthew Dingwall-Melcher made the trip over from Guisborough worthwhile to get a first on the opening race with Guy Drabble second and RCC rider Megan Simpson third. Megan then took a first from the boys by half a wheel on the sprint race. Guy took the gold medal on the last race from Mathew Dingwall- Melcher and Hunmanbys Matthew Hutchinson in third

Nutcracker competitor William Thurley mixed it and beat rival RCC riders Bailey Thornton and Cavan Walker on in race one with Bailey taking the race 2 sprint followed by Cavan and Bridlington’s Reuben Allanson. With the track reversed for the final race the pack were very close for three laps with Bailey taking it on the last lap followed by Walker and Allanson ….superb close racing!

Wakefield rider Jack Sumner made the early start to take the first race followed by RCC rider Marcus Archer and Andy Hume in second. Archer took revenge on the sprint race with Hume second and Sumner third.  Also running a reverse track for the final race Jack took an early lead but was shadowed all the way by Archer but as they approached the line Marcus hadn’t the power to catch Jack who took the gold by half a wheel!
