This year’s club volunteer workshops will ask you to challenge how new members, parents and potential volunteers view your club, while also providing an opportunity to meet with other volunteers, discuss best practice and get up-to-date with what’s happening across the region.
If you haven’t attended in previous years, the conferences are a chance for Go-Ride staff and volunteers to meet annually and share skills and experience. The one-day events take place across the country and are free for club volunteers at Go-Ride Clubs who are British Cycling members.
Club management and marketing
The morning session will take an interactive approach to ensuring that your club is maximising its services, whether that means providing exceptional service to members, thinking like a customer or developing member loyalty.
The workshop will outline the concepts and principles of marketing and highlight the benefits of social media, incorporating practical guides on how to maximise its use. During the workshop there will be a focus on how to attract and retain members, raising your club profile and gaining valuable feedback from members.
Regional update
The afternoon workshop will provide regional updates, including the support available to your clubs, the opportunities that your club can get involved in and the latest developments in your area. You will also have time to network with fellow clubs and catch up with your regional development manager.

NB: Based on the unprecedented demand for last year’s conferences, places will be limited to six volunteers per Go-Ride Club, with the option to purchase additional places at a cost of £20 per place. New young volunteers (workshop 3) may attend free of charge and can be in addition to these six places.
