Join a coaching workshop at the 2016 Go-Ride Conferences to explore your coaching culture and reflect upon how your knowledge, values and beliefs can influence the development of riders throughout their cycling journey.

This year’s workshop will be presented by the British Cycling coaching team, offering an opportunity to discuss coaching culture with your local Go-Ride coaches.

Identify your coaching culture

The 2016 coaching workshop will open with an interactive module highlighting the values and beliefs that make up your coaching culture. It will also explore how coaches can maximise rider development, keeping riders involved in the sport from their first scoot on a balance bike until their transition into the senior ranks.

Implement coaching culture

The session will progress to analyse how coaches can develop the content of their coaching activities based on the observed performance of young riders.

Rider Route

The coaching workshop will conclude with updates to the Rider Route, reflecting on which activities stimulate rider progression between different stages of development. This insight helps to motivate young riders to remain within their clubs and maintain an interest in the sport as they progress through their rider journey.
