A road stage racer for Team Sky, Peter Kennaugh’s first success came on the track.

The Manxman, who started out racing BMX aged six, went on to win the scratch race at the 2006 junior world championships.

Winning a stage and finishing third overall at the 2009 Giro Bio secured a contract with Team Sky in 2010, where he made his grand tour debut at the Vuelta a Espana.

In 2012, Kennaugh would return to the track to record his greatest achievements, winning team pursuit at the 2012 UCI Track Cycling World Championships and going on to win won gold in the same event at the London 2012 Olympic Games alongside Ed Clancy, Steven Burke and Geraint Thomas.

Awarded an MBE In the 2013 New Years Honours, Pete made his Tour de France debut in the same year, riding in support of eventual winner Chris Froome.

In 2014, Pete continued his development as a stage racer on the road, winning Coppi e Bartali and the Tour of Austria. He also won the silver medal for Isle of Man in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

In 2015, Kennaugh took the British road title in Lincoln after winning the opening stage of the prestigious Criterium du Dauphine in France.
