Lucy started cycling when she was nine years old, starting out in the mountain bike and cyclo-cross disciplines. In 2011, Lucy made a name for herself by winning the junior road world championships, a feat she went on to replicate in 2012, just six weeks after winning the European Road Championships and the day after she turned 18.
Lucy is also a talented track rider, winning two gold medals at the 2012 European junior track championships and she also has won medals at the British senior national track championships.
At the inuagral Friend's Life Women's Tour in 2014, Lucy was crowned as the best placed British rider in the race.
