The Great Britain Cycling Team have announced a 15 rider team for the European Track Championships

British Cycling has today confirmed the team of 15 riders who will compete at the European Track Cycling Championships taking place from 21 – 23 October 2011 in Apeldoorn, Holland.

The event, which holds Olympic qualifying points, will see current European Champions Jason Kenny, Laura Trott, Steven Burke, Ed Clancy and Andy Tennant out to defend their titles, whilst Jason Queally - current European Champion in the Team Pursuit - will contest the Team Sprint for 2011. Sir Chris Hoy, who started his 2011/2012 season with a hat trick of Gold medals at the recent Nationals, has also made selection.

Performance Manager Shane Sutton said: “We’re sending a strong team to the Euros and our aim remains to score Olympic qualification points early. I’d say we are on target to achieve this as the whole team is looking strong and healthy as we enter into the final preparation stages for London 2012.”
