British Cycling has confirmed the Great Britain team for the Santiago del Estero, Argentina, round of the UCI BMX Supercross on 10-11 May 2013.

Olympic Podium Programme athletes Liam Phillips and Shanaze Reade will compete in the second round of four in the series, at the track at the Sport Centre of Santiago del Estero built in 2011.

Both Phillips and Reade dominated the opening round at Manchester’s National Indoor BMX Centre, winning the time-trial Superfinals and Supercross events.

"We’re keen to continue that momentum through to Argentina."

National BMX coach Grant White

National BMX Coach Grant White said: “Both Liam and Shanaze put in some very impressive performances to take the clean sweep of medals at the Manchester round of the World Cup series, and we’re keen to continue that momentum through to Argentina.

“I was also really pleased with the Academy riders in Manchester and we saw some big developments in their performances.

"For them, Manchester was the key event in their development plan and their next phase is a big block of training to continue this progression, therefore no Academy riders have been selected for Argentina.”
