British Cycling has confirmed the Great Britain squad for the Tour of Istria stage race in the UCI juniors Nations’ Cup.

The three-stage event runs from 19-21 April in Croatia and will be Great Britain’s second outing in the 2013 junior Nations’ Cup series.

In the only change from Paris-Roubaix Juniors, Jacob Scott replaces Matt Gibson who suffered a broken bone in the hand after a crash in northern France and will be out for ‘4-6 weeks’ according to British Cycling Olympic Development Programme coach Matt Winston.

Friday’s stage one takes riders from Rovinj-Buzet over 97-kilometres before a 90-kilometre journey from Umag to Labin on Saturday. Sunday’s Vrsar-Pula final stage is the longest at 106-kilometres with Nations’ Cup points to be awarded for both stage results and the final general classification.

After Tao Geoghegan Hart’s third place and Oliver Wood’s sixth position in Roubaix, Great Britain currently occupy second place in the UCI juniors Nations’ Cup overall standings with 25 points.
