A third place finish in the final stage of the Course de la Paix for Great Britain’s Chris Lawless rounded off a productive trip to the Czech Republic for the Olympic Development Programme riders.

Lawless’ efforts in the 99.8km road race, which started and finished in Terezín, helped give Great Britain a second podium of the tour after Sam Lowe rode to second in the opening Litomerice-Litomerice 95.5 km stage on Thursday.

Other notable results included sixth for Tao Geoghegan Hart on the final leg and eighth for Alex Peters in the penultimate Teplice-Dippoldiswalde 113.7km race, which coach Matt Winston described as the ‘hardest stage I've ever seen for juniors, 80km climbing a 12km climb three times.’

In the general classification, Denmark’s Niklas Eg celebrated victory whilst Alex Peters was the highest of the Brits in fourteenth. The ‘Junior Peace Race’ forms part of the UCI junior Nations’ Cup which will now take Great Britain to the Trofeo Karlsberg in Germany from 17-20 May.
