British Cycling has today announced the team of 14 riders who will compete at the UCI Para-Cycling Track World Championships in Los Angeles, taking place on 9-12 February 2012.

Jon-Allen Butterworth will be looking to repeat his superb efforts at last year's championships

The team consist of six Paralympic Champions – Anthony Kappes, Darren Kenny, Jody Cundy, Barney Storey, Sarah Storey and Aileen McGlynn – and a number of promising London 2012 hopefuls including Mark Colbourne who is making his track debut for GB.

Performance Manager Gareth Sheppard said: “The World Championships in LA are the final qualification event for the 2012 London Paralympic Games and we have selected a strong team to maximise medal opportunities and bring back vital qualification points.

“Next time we meet our opponents will be on the boards of the London Velodrome in August, so LA is also the final opportunity for our track riders to measure their performance against the competition and we are looking forward to some exciting British performances.”
