The Great Britain Cycling Team enjoyed three victories on a superb weekend of racing at rounds seven and eight of the UEC BMX European Cup in Verona.

Rio Olympian Kyle Evans took the win in Saturday’s round seven elite men’s race. Evans took full advantage of having the inside gate to see off the challenge of Russia’s Evgeny Kleshchenko and Dutch rider Justin Kimmann.

Evans reached the main final again on Sunday put a crash ended his hopes of a double in Italy.

Sunday’s round eight brought two further victories as Bethany Shriever won her fourth round from five appearances with a dominant display.

The 18-year-old had finished last in Saturday’s final but put the disappointment behind her to continue what has been a fantastic year so far.

The 17-year-old was fourth in the final bend of the race but somehow powered past Kevin van de Groenendaal and Mikus Davids Strazdins on the line in a photo finish.
