Great Britain Cycling Team’s Tre Whyte won all three of his qualification heats as the final round of the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup started in Sarasota on Saturday.

Whyte, 22, was in imperious form to book his place in Sunday’s elite men’s motos while Bethany Shriever secured her spot in the elite women’s motos.

The 17-year-old British Cycling Senior Academy rider is in her first season of world cup racing and victories in the first two of her three races, along with second place in the last heat, saw her head into the second day in positive style.
