Great Britain Cycling Team's Paddy Sharrock took successive second places in the junior men’s competition at rounds one and two of the UEC BMX European Cup in Belgium.

The 16-year-old was in excellent form in Zolder as he finished behind Dutch rider Justin Kimmann in round one on Saturday.

Olympic Development Programme athlete Sharrock, one of five Great Britain Cycling Team riders in action, found himself on the podium again on Sunday, second only to France’s Romain Racine.

Former under-16 world champion Quillan Isidore reached the elite men’s final in round two, finishing fourth.

Blaine Ridge-Davis (men 17-24), Ryan Hutchinson (junior men) and Wilfred Njuguna (boys 15-16) all gained valuable experience but missed out on final spots.

The UEC BMX European Cup next visits France for rounds three and four before trips to Denmark and Switzerland with the final rounds in Manchester.
