Wyman and Harris secure top-10 finishes at UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup

Nine-time British champion Wyman was ninth in Hoogerheide.

Great Britain’s Helen Wyman and Nikki Harris took top-10 finishes at the last round of the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup in Hoogerheide on Sunday.

Nine-time British champion Wyman was ninth, one minute and 58 seconds behind winner Eva Lechner, with Harris 10th - a further 19 seconds back.

The result placed Wyman and Harris in the top-10 elite women for the six-round series, Wyman seventh with 166 points and Harris ninth with 152 points. Belgium’s Sanne Cant took the title.

Amira Mellor finished in 32nd with Hannah Payton 34th.

In the elite men’s race, British champion Ian Field was 33rd as Dutch rider Mathieu van der Poel celebrated victory. Belgian Kevin Pauwels was crowned series champion.

In the under-23 men’s race, Jack Clarkson was 20th and Ben Sumner 24th.

Britain's riders will now be focusing on the UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships in Tabor, Czech Republic on 31 January - 1 February.
