Great Britain Cycling Team named for Santiago del Estero UCI BMX Supercross World Cup

British Cycling has announced the Great Britain Cycling Team for the fourth round of the 2014 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup in Santiago del Estero, Argentina.  

Liam Phillips, Kyle Evans and Tre Whyte will compete in South America from the 6-7 September.

Phillips, 25, currently leads the overall elite men’s standings after three of five rounds on 455 points, 40 clear of Frenchman Joris Daudet.

Whyte makes his third appearance in this year’s world cup on the back of his bronze medal at the UCI BMX World Championships in Rotterdam.

Twenty-year-old Evans has enjoyed an excellent series so far, sitting in seventh overall with fifth and sixth finishes at Manchester and Berlin respectively.  

Charlotte Green misses the event after sustaining an injury at the British Cycling BMX Championships at the Cyclopark in Kent.

Santiago del Estero held its first UCI BMX Supercross World Cup in 2013. It was the also the first time the series had visited South America.
