Great Britain’s Kyle Evans reigned supreme with a double victory at rounds nine and 10 of the UEC European BMX League at Perry Park in Birmingham.

The 20-year-old, sixth at the UCI BMX Supercross in Berlin earlier this month, took his first win in the competition on Saturday ahead of Australia’s Matthew Juster and Japan’s Yoshitaku Nagasako.

“Great to take my first Elite men win in front of a home crowd! Good close racing too,” Evans tweeted.

Evans then completed a perfect weekend with a second triumph on Sunday, finishing ahead of France’s Vincent Pelluard and Sylvain Andre in the final.

Fellow Briton Tre Whyte was fourth with Liam Phillips absent as he continues to focus on defending his world title in Rotterdam next month.

The performances will also aid Great Britain in Olympic qualification with the period for acquiring points now open.

“Time for bed after an amazing weekend! Managed to follow up my First euro win with another win!…,” Evans tweeted on Sunday evening.

In the elite women’s competition, Charlotte Green returned from a wrist injury to finish eighth on Saturday but missed out on the final on Sunday.

Paddy Sharrock added another British victory in the boys 15/16 category on Saturday, Ryan Hutchinson also on the podium in third.

The meeting at Birmingham Perry Park track, part of the legacy from the 2012 BMX world championships in the city, was the penultimate event in the European League.

The final round is in Roskilde, Denmark on the 11 July.
