Diorections

From the South

The nearest big village is Rothbury if you are coming from the south take the A1 north past Newcastle then take the A697 Coldstream road north for about 8 miles. Then left onto the B6344 for about 5 miles then left onto B6341 into Rothbury. Carry on through the village and the next village of Thropton heading west then you go through a farm and it’s a right hand turn on a left bend signed to Alwinton and Harbottle. After driving about 5 long miles  you get to Harbottle drive through the village then over two bridges. After the second bridge and before you get to Alwinton village turn right towards Clennell hall. Carry on along this road you will see Clennell Hall Hotel on the right and the burn on your left. Follow the road over a cattle grid the tarmac now turns to  a red forestry track follow this into a remote looking valley (you will think you are lost at this point but keep cool and follow the track)continue along the track over numerous bridges over the burn for about 2 miles eventually the forest comes into site. Drive into forest stay right (ignoring left up to Kidlandlee then head down deeper into forest. A small grass camping field is situated at the bottom of the hill on the right if you want hard stand for a caravan or moterhome follow the track past the camping over a concrete ford then turn right and follow this track 100m through the gate and around the corner. For general parking instead of turning right over the ford basically find a spot straight on, on the side of the track (ensure we can still get emergency vehicles and forest trucks through). Please don’t park beyond the forest gate or the second ford!

Look out for NDH signs red lettering on white board to guide you in.

From the West

A69 from Cumbria heading east towards Newcastle take A68 north at Corbridge heading towards Jedburgh then after about 20 miles take a right in to Otterburn village then right again onto A696 heading south towards Newcastle again. Take first left after about a mile onto the B6341 heading to Elsdon and Rothbury. Stay on this road through Elsdon for about 7 miles then look for a left turn towards Harbottle and Alwinton (this turn is easy to miss so keep them peeled) follow this road for about 4 miles until you meet a T junction turn left and head to Harbottle drive through the village then over two bridges. Camping is free at this point.  Please DO NOT CAMP past  this point and there will be signs to remind you of this.

On the event days drive into forest stay right  ignoring left up to Kidlandlee then head down deeper into forest.
