Event Summary

Event Overview

The Culloden Cycle Challenge offers a testing but non-competitive end of season ride on quiet roads through spectacular Highland countryside past historic towns and renowned heritage landmarks. Available in two strengths, you can choose between the Wee Battle (42 miles/2200ft of climbing) and the Big Battle (85 miles/3340ft of climbing). And it’s all in a good cause as the North of Scotland Cycling Association will make a significant donation from each entry towards funds for the building of a new Velodrome and safe Cycling Park available to riders of all ages and abilities here in the Highlands.

Ride HQ is Culloden Academy, just 2.5 miles from the start/finish area at Culloden Battlefield.  Free carparking, registration, changing & shower facilities plus hot food when you return your ride number and timing transponder at the end. We’ll be available for signing-in and information from 8.30am. Big Battle participants will start in groups of 20 riders at 2 minute intervals from 10.00am. Wee Battle riders get underway from 10.30am. There will be friendly marshals, generous signage, motorcycle outriders, bike mechanics and a following broom wagon if it all gets too much. Plus food & drinks, toilets and medics at the Ferness and Grantown on Spey pitstops. Event times and certificates of completion will be available online.

Don’t delay, the closing date is Saturday 5 October 2013, and the first 250 valid entries will be accepted. A consent form signed by a parent/guardian will be required for entrants under the age of 18 and riders must be age 16 or above. Fees are £30 for the Big battle, £20 for the Wee one.
