Event Overview
Back for the 2nd year, the Velo29-Altura Daffodils Sportive. Over 300 riders enjoyed the great signage and beautiful roads in the 2013 event.
The Daffodils Sprotive is centred around the famous Farndale Daffodils. Turn the corner of "suprise view" and spring will start. Descend rapidly to Farndale where the World famous Daffodils will be blooming. You will soon forget the long cold Winter months as the miles tick by in this beautiful new Sportive.
The short route of 35.6 miles has a drag after about 5 miles and then in Kilburn a short but steep climb. The rest is mostly flat and all on quiet coutry lanes.
At 76.5 miles the medium also has no major climbs, around Farndale it's very lumpy but there is nothing too steep.
The Long 87.9 mile route climbs Blakey Bank which is a real challenge! 25% and aover 1 mile long!
There are 2 feed zones on both the long and medium route, lots of parking at Thirsk School as well as showers and changing.
