About the Event

Info for Riders

The seventh Acorn 100k Sponsored Bike Ride takes place on Saturday 11th May and we hope that this year’s event continues the tradition of raising tens of thousands of pounds for the two causes which Acorn supports - research into scleroderma disease at Leeds General Infirmary and for people with dementia and their carers in the Ripon and Harrogate area. Last year's Bike Ride raised over £32,000 and that means that over £174,000 has been raised through the Bike Ride alone since 2007. The 100k Bike Ride is fully marshalled and takes a circular route starting in Bishop Monkton, near Harrogate and continuing through Boroughbridge to Easingwold and Sheriff Hutton. Waterstops are provided and a light lunch is available at Sheriff Hutton. St John's Ambulance are on duty and help with minor cycle repairs is on hand from Chevin Cycles of Otley.
