Break The Cycle 2013 - Bristol Rugby Community Foundation

Cycle Sportive , Bristol – Saturday, 01 Jun 2013

Event Summary

Event Overview

It is my great pleasure to announce the launch of the 2013 Break The Cycle fundraising event. Break The Cycle, now in its third year, grew significantly in 2012 with over 100 cyclists taking part in the 1-day challenge, which has proven to be a vital source of funding for us during tough financial times.  Each cyclist has raised around £250 each for the foundation.

We at Bristol Rugby Community Foundation have proven that the sport of rugby union has unique engagement qualities. This engagement gives us the opportunity to make real and lasting change in some of the most 'at risk' young people in our Community today.

I would like to thank every single rider who has taken part in our Break The Cycle event in the first 2 years. The funds raised in the first year helped secure the immediate future of our new charity; the funds raised in year 2 ensured the future of our TAG rugby programme that provides in, and out of curriculum sporting provision for over 15,000 young people throughout the Bristol Rugby catchment area each year.

If you care about young people in the Bristol Community, or if you want to support a local charity, and if you fancy the challenge of cycling 101miles in 1 day with a team of friends - please sign up and then we can support you with your fundraising.
