About the Event

Info for Riders

Situated in the north-east of Scotland, in the beautiful Spey Valley world famed for its renowned Whisky Trail. The Event start/finish will be in Elgin's Cooper Park, where Moray District Council also plan to host a number of other tourist attractions on the day. The Malt Whisky Trail through Speyside is the only one of its kind in the world, which makes it a unique selling point for the area. Moray is home to a huge concentration of over 50 distilleries (around half of Scotland's total) including world famous malt whisky names such as Glenfiddich, Glenlivet and The Macallan.Clearly this is the inspiration behind the creation of the first major cycle sportive for Morayshire. Many of the main whisky distilleries have visitor's centres and with the main sportive route encompassing a large number of distilleries then this should help to persuade riders, families and friends to lengthen their stay and take the opportunity to explore this wonderful area.
