Info for Riders
The event is hosted at the National Botanic Garden of Wales, Llanarthne, Carmarthenshire. Easy access off A48. Full facilities available and loads of free parking. Pre-registration from 17.00 to 19.00 on the eve of the event. Four routes: 24 mile, 57 mile, 70 mile and 104 miles. The 3 longer rides all cross the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park. The Merlin Ride will be one of the hardest sportives you will ever do. Colin Charvis, retired WRU Captain said it was one of the most demanding physical challenges he has ever done! If you don't prepare you will suffer. The 70 mile (Cothi) is one of best all round events with the exceptional climb over the Black Mountain and descent to Llangadog, plus the ride through the Cothi Valley and alpine style climb out of Brechfa. There are feed stations spaced at about 20 mile intervals, these provide all your hydration needs and energy gels, and carb load. Timing by Trumin chip attached to shoe. Cycle show, hot meal & Physio available. Funds to charities.
