Thoresby Festival of Cycling

Saturday 18th May 2013

 

 

In the morning there will be the British Cycling Circuit Racing, moving to the specialist races in the afternoon.

Please be guided by the marshalls and the organisers who have given up their time and are all un-paid volunteers for this event.

Youth Gear Checks are to be completed before sign on, a raffle ticket will be provided, and this will be produced with your licence to the signing on desk.

At the end of your race please leave the circuit safely as soon as possible.

Please DO NOT PESTER the officials or LINE JUDGES at the end of your race, results will be available at the earliest opportunity and at event HQ.

Please be careful and respect the beautiful estate, as we are only here at the discretion of Thoresby Estate and Stonebridge Trust and we want to continue the great working relationship we have built up.

schedule as follows;

 

A portion of the  long circuit will be open from the Island to the Stone bridge prior to the start of the Youth A and B Race, the roads will be closed to all cyclists, pedestrian and vehicular traffic from 1000 hours

Short Circuit Open for warm up from 9am to 9.20am, please be mindful that pedestrians will be crossing at designated crossing points, and there may be vehicular traffic around the long circuits during this period.

Finish Line located on the short hill before the electronic gates

0930 hours

10 minutes plus 1 lap. All riders to parade at the triangle ready to roll out. Leave the circuit as soon as you have finished your race.

About the Event

Info for Riders

This event is taking place in the beautiful grounds of Thoresby Park [Thoresby.com] and will be part of a festival of cycling over the weekend to include youth circuit racing and a 4th Cat and junior and senior women's race on the Saturday, Limited to 40 riders per event. There will be penny farthing, unicycle, `Go Ride` and many other attractions. Grass track racing is to take place on the Sunday and there will be overnight camping with evening entertainment a Barn Dance and hog Roast. Online entries open on January 1st 2012

This event is taking place in the beautiful grounds of Thoresby Park [Thoresby.com] and will be part of a festival of cycling over the weekend to include youth circuit racing and a 4th Cat and junior and senior women's race on the Saturday, Limited to 40 riders per event. There will be penny farthing, unicycle, `Go Ride` and many other attractions. Grass track racing is to take place on the Sunday and there will be overnight camping with evening entertainment a Barn Dance and hog Roast. Online entries open on January 1st 2012
