West Midlands Outdoor Cluster Programme 2024 (4)

Go-Ride , Newcastle-under-Lyme – Saturday, 11 May 2024

Event Summary

Event Overview

This is number 4 of a series of track sessions aimed at getting more young riders into track.  They will be held on the three outdoor velodromes in the West Midlands - Halesowen, Aldersley and Newcastle.

There are a number of bikes available for use at this venue in a variety of sizes.  Bike hire at this venue is free.

The sessions will give priority to riders who are members of Go-Ride clubs in the West Midlands, but are open to all young riders in the Midlands and beyond.  Club coaches will help riders to understand and apply the basics of how to ride a track bike all the way through to advanced techniques and preparation for racing in local track leagues and the NYO series if applicable.

This session has been deliberately planned on one week ahead of the NYO to be held at this venue.  The advanced group in particular will give riders the opportunity to work on key skills required under the supervision of qualified coaches.

Application for a ride - When you click the "Enter" button, I can't guarantee that you will get an allocated place at the event.  I will allocate available places according to any priorities described below, but otherwise on a first-come-first-served basis.

Please select the correct grouping for yourself based on track ability as instructed by coaches.  If you are still unsure, please contact us before booking on to the event. Groups may be re-organised by coaches depending on ability and experience of riders.

Acceptance is at the discretion of the organiser.  We reserve the right to alter the size and number of ability groups at any time.

Bike Hire - There may be limited supply of bikes in some sizes, necessitating the sharing of bikes between riders in different groups. Please contact me in advance if you would like a bike so I can try to ensure that there is availability for everyone who needs one. However, if you have access to a track bike in your size, please bring it!

ALL applicants must give some details of their track experience during the sign up process.  Simply typing 'advanced' is not enough detail.

Novice Riders - it is particularly important that you let us know your level of track riding experience. This is because we may split the group into those with some experience and complete beginners.

Age - Riders must be aged from 9 to 16 years on the date of the event.

Important - If you have not already submitted one for this series of sessions, please bring a completed Parental Consent Form. If you need to download one, go to:
