Three Counties, Seven Piers is an exciting 94-mile cycle challenge from Great Yarmouth to Clacton-on-Sea, following the beautiful East Anglian coastline from Norfolk, through Suffolk and into Essex.

The route takes in seven iconic piers and gives riders the chance to complete an epic and picturesque journey. At the same time, your pedal power will help three local Mind charities who are uniting in their mission to support mental health awareness and services across the three counties of Norfolk, Essex and Suffolk.

About the Event

Info for Riders

The 7 Piers Challenge is a one-way cycling challenge like no other. The route will take riders on predominantly quiet and flat country and coastal roads, exploring three counties and visiting seven piers all in one day. 


From Great Yarmouth in Norfolk, riders will venture south into Suffolk, along the coast taking in some stunning seaside towns, enjoy pretty countryside & tree lined lanes, as the route showcases the very best of the region. After a short hop on the Harwich Harbour Ferry, we arrive in Essex for the final stretch of the ride through pretty Essex hamlets & villages before reaching the finish at Clacton Pier.

 

The Seven Piers:

1) Britannia Pier, Great Yarmouth = Start point

2) Claremont Pier, Lowestoft

3) Southwold Pier, Southwold

4) Felixstowe Pier, Felixstowe

5) Ha’Penny Pier, Harwich

6) Walton Pier, Walton-on-the-Naze

7) Clacton Pier, Clacton-on-Sea = Finish point

 

Inclusions

  • Mapped and tested route
  • GPX route and printed map
  • Support crew and vehicles
  • Lunch, snacks and drinks
  • River ferry crossing from Felixstowe to Harwich (Fare included, but Harwich Harbour Ferry will be responsible for the crossing and therefore, our route will be broken into two sections - Gt Yarmouth to Felixstowe and Harwich to Clacton on Sea)
  • A selection of memento photos throughout the challenge
  • Eco-friendly bespoke medal
