Info for Riders

To kick-off our 2024 season, Wrexham Cycling Club will be holding a Festiva - a Festival of Cycling!

 

There will lots of different cycling challenges for children to try.

 

  • Wheelie Challenge - how far can you wheelie?
  • Rollers - can you ride rollers?
  • Wattbike challenge
  • Trackstand challenge - how long can you stay on a bike without moving.
  • Mini Cyclocross race - can you beat a Welsh Champion?
  • Balance bike races
  • Skills Challenge - can you ride the obstacle course without fault?

 

All children welcome, free entry and the will be a selection of bikes (and helmets) for children to use / try.

Children can try one event or all events or just come along and watch.

 

The event will start at 10am and finish by 1pm, refreshments will be available.

 

What is a Festiva?

• A Festiva is a celebration of cycling – a festival on bikes

• A Festiva is comprised of at least 3-5 distinct cycling events that are fun-
competitive

• Events can be racing, skill challenges, games, bike maintenance, art and more – anything goes!

• Festiva’s are co-created with the riders, so riders can design their own events

• Participants compete in ability groupings

• Points can be awarded for trying something new, effort and winning
