About the Event

Info for Riders

About: Open morning of children’s cycling activities at Preston Park's historic open-air velodrome where PPYCC run Saturday morning cycling sessions for children and young people aged 8 to 18. Come and have a go at a range of fun cycling activities under the guidance of our team of British Cycling coaches. Sessions will start at 9am, 10am and 11am and last for 60 minutes, there is no need to book, just come along and join in the next session. Groups will go through a series of activities and games to develop their cycling skills and techniques, and will get the chance to compete in some fun races. In line with our aspirations to increase and retain female membership, there will also be a girls-only group led by female British Cycling coaches. There will be prizes and giveaways at each session. Please just turn up and visit the registration table which will be near the massive VELODROME mural where the old grandstand used to be. The track and field will be locked to the general public, the only entrance point will be via the registration area. Accompanying adults will be asked to stay outside the perimeter fence where they can speak to our volunteers about the club and watch the activities, while the kids are busy having fun on the track and field!

Date: 24/06/2023

Time: 09:00 - 12:00pm

Further information: Kids must be aged 8 and above and have their own bike in good working order and a helmet, and they must be able to ride their bike independently to join a session.
