The Route

Covering approximately 80 miles, the ride leaves from the Uptonsteel County Ground in the morning, heading south east before navigating along the country roads northwards in the direction of Melton Mowbray. The route takes the riders through the Soar Valley area, before heading north west and returning to the Uptonsteel County Ground via the western areas of Charnwood and travelling through parts of Hinckley and Bosworth & Blaby Districts.

The club have partnered with two children’s charities, based in Leicestershire, who will benefit from funds raised for the Foundation. Alongside the charities, the Foundation will support LCCC’s Academy and local grassroots cricket clubs to support the next generation of young cricketers.

Alex’s Wish and Healing Little Hearts are the two chosen charities which will directly benefit from fundraising initiatives, led by the club, which will go toward improving the lives of young children and their families.

Alex’s Wish aims to eradicate Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, the most aggressive form of Muscular Dystrophy that affects 1 in every 3,500 boys born. The charity fundraises to bring about effective treatments and ultimately a cure for the condition.

Healing Little Hearts offers free heart surgery to babies and children born with Congenital Heart Disease. The charity sends medical teams to perfor life-saving heart operations on children in developing parts of the world.
