Event Overview

One of the most beautiful parts of the country, the Velo2Velo Scarborough Bike & Boot Sportive is a 55 mile cycle sportive with a fully signed route.

Departing from the Bike & Boot Hotel on Cliff Bridge Terrace, the route heads out along the seafront taking in Scarborough Castle and views over the Yorkshire coastline.

It’s then into the North Yorks Moors National Park, following the route of the 2019 Tour De Yorkshire through Harwood Dale before taking in some of the planned 2020 route through Hackness and the Forge Valley Woods.

Scarborough has been a part of the Tour de Yorkshire in each edition since the race's inception and has produced some spectacular finishes and it provides another perfect location for our Velo2Velo series.

This route is suitable for a wide range of riders, particularly anyone who is looking for an event that's both challenging and relaxed, it isn’t too hard on the legs, it is all about going at your own pace and enjoying stunning North Yorkshire countryside.

About the Event

Info for Riders

Rider registration opens at 7:00am

Riders depart from 7.30am

The event HQ is Bike & Boot Hotel, Cliff Bridge Terrace, Scarborough, YO11 2HA. Toilets and changing facilities are available at the event HQ. There will also be an accomodation offer for those who wish to stay ahead of the event.

There are no timing chips, with the aim to make it a great non-competitive but challenging day out for riders of all abilities. GPX files will be available for download.

The route will be fully signposted. A support car will be out on the route to assist any mechanical breakdowns, however, it is expected that all riders will carry a spare tube/pump as a minimum and follow the rules of the road.
