Event Summary

Event Overview

This MTB talent development session is for riders who are currently racing or aspire to race MTB either regionally or nationally. The sessions are designed and supported by the British Cycling Talent Development Team.

Group 1

The TDC group is open to Juniors, Youth and Junvenile riders and will focus on higher level skills development, race fitness, race tactics and racecraft including seminars on diet, goal setting, off the bike training and basic mechanics.

Group 2

The Club Cluster group will run alongside the TDC and is open to Under 12 riders

Under 12: From 1st Jan of year in which 11th Birthday falls to 31st December of year in which 12th Birthday falls.

This group will work on developing essential MTB skills and preparing riders for racing.

These sessions are delivered by experienced British Cycling Mountain Bike Coaches. 

Based at the excellent Sherwood Pines riders will have access to toilets, cafe, changing facilities, bike wash and classroom for occasional theory sessions.

NOTE  Riders are expected to bring their own bikes in good working condition, fitted with FLAT pedals.  You must also bring clipless pedals to swap over if required.

All riders must also bring a completed parental consent form (see link)

Helmets are compulsory.

Please also bring snacks, drink and clothing suitable for the weather conditions, spare inner tubes, pump and relevant toolkit.

Think about food & drink and spare clothes for the journey home too!

Info for Riders

IMPORTANT

All riders MUST have flat pedals fitted at the start of the session.

Ideally these should be 'proper' MTB flats with replaceable steel/titanium pins - these are much more suitable than standard plastic or forged flat pedals.  If you need advice please visit your local bike shop or the staff at Sherwood Cycles

Cost:

Each TDC 3 hour coached session costs £6 online entry only.

Please bring your BC membership card/race licence to sign on.

The Cluster sessions for youth C/D entry is online only.   

The cluster session is for 3 hours and starts at 10am until 1pm.
