Thames Velo Spring road race (Cancelled)

Road , Berkshire – Sunday, 26 Apr 2020

Event Summary

This event has been cancelled

Event Overview

Thames Velo will again be hosting two British Cycling Road Races on Sunday the 26th April. We will be using our local Drift Road circuit near Maidenhead.

As an amateur cycling club and as such our road race is held to support the sport and not for financial gain, so this year we have decided to donate any profits made from our road race to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance.

The Air Ambulance is a charity that provides medical services to those in need within the counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. The Air Ambulance paramedics and doctors are highly trained and can mean the difference between life and death when tragedy happens. Something we at Thames Velo are more than aware of when their services helped out our own Matt Jones when the worst happened during a ride last summer, and without doubt saved his life! So to support this fantastic charity, we are donating any profits from the race to assist them to continue their amazing work.

The morning event is 3/4/W/J (Regional B). The first 10 placed will get cash prices and BC points. The best placed women will also get £100.

The E/1/2/3/W category event (National B) in the afternoon will compete for a hansom prize money pot and BC points.

Race HQ will be at Holyport Memorial Hall, Money Row Green, Maidenhead, Berkshire, SL6 2NQ

As with previous editions medical backup will be present, NEG support has been requested and extensive marshalling will be provided.

We hope to see you at the Spring Road Races!
