Event Overview

Criteria to access SQT  Track Session

 • Has the required fitness to complete the session, at coaches discretion. An example session contains a 20 minute roller warm up, followed by 3 x 25 minute track efforts

• Able to complete a roller session without stopping

• Able to ride a pace line safely in a bunch, demonstrating pace judgement • Competent riding at the top, middle and bottom of group

• Able to ride ‘high and slow’ in a pace line

• Participants to be able to perform a Madison change

• Demonstrates good awareness on track

• Able to complete a ‘rev out’ on the rollers

• Demonstrate competency in race scenarios:

Competitions Track riders are expected to compete in all the competitions listed, or the equivalent if training for another discipline

 

Youth B (Under 14) From 1st January in year of 13th birthday until 31st December in year of 14th birthday

Youth A (Under 16) From 1st January in year of 15th birthday until 31st December in year of 16th birthday

To attend a Wales Youth Programme Session, you must:

• Be a British Cycling member;

• Be eligible to ride for Wales;
  - Born in Wales, OR;
  - Parent born in Wales, OR:
  - Resident of Wales for a minimum of five years 

• Use your own cycle (no Newport Live hire bikes);

• Wear club kit.
