Event Overview
The Haverhill Cycling Club CB9er sportive offers three routes through East Anglia, taking in three counties, Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire. Routes of 29-mile, 59-mile and 99-mile have been planned to accommodate riders of all abilities.

The routes are largely along quiet country lanes through picturesque and gently rolling countryside, passing through delightful small towns and villages such as Ashdon, Thaxted, Bardfield and Wickhambrook.


The CB9er is a friendly, relaxed and non-competitive event for all ages and abilities (under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult).

This event offers well planned and managed routes as well as free parking, feed stations, finisher’s medal & goody bag and post event food and drinks. Everything you need for a good day’s cycling!


A donation will be made to the Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust appeal for a Children's Emergency Ambulance from proceeds raised by the event.


About the Event:

  • Start and finish from our local bike store, Aerocycles in Haverhill, CB9 7BG.
  • Free parking, refreshments and bike maintenance will be available at the start.
  • Routes will be clearly signposted with marshals at key points.
  • Routes will be made available for download to GPS devices.
  • Feed stations with cake, fruit and water will be available.
  • Entry fee includes third party insurance.
  • All finishers will receive a CB9er goody bag including a souvenir medal, a neck warmer and sweets.
  • A free burger or hotdog to fuel your journey home will be available at our finish line BBQ.
  • The 99-mile route will set off from 8am and follows a figure of eight loop with feed stops at 30 miles and 60 miles.
  • The 59-mile route starts from 9am and follows a single loop with one feed station at 30 miles.
  • The 29-mile off last at 10am and follows a single loop. There is no feed station, but the route takes you past plenty of country pubs if you’re flagging!
    One near Thaxted (TBD) for the 59-mile
    and 99-mile riders. The 99-riders will stop at Aerocycles before completing the final 40-miles.

How to enter:

  • Entry is on-line, go to www.britishcycling.org.uk and search "CB9er”.
  • Entry fees will be £18 for the 29-mile ride, £23 for the 59-mile ride and £28 for the 99-mile ride.
  • Bookings made before 1st March 2020 attract an Early bird discount of £5.
  • On-line entries will close on Sunday 17th May 2020.
  • Entries on the day will be accepted subject to availability and will be subject to a £10 surcharge.
