Event Overview

The Sally Anne Low Memorial Women’s Road Race is the Sunday afternoon event of the annual Cairngorm CC race weekend. This year it has a similar recipe of events and you can enter any or all as you wish. As with last year this race incorporates the Scottish National Women’s Series and the Scottish Veteran Women’s Road Race Championships

 The other events of the weekend are:

  • the Mackie Trophy TT on Saturday morning
  • the Cairngorm Hill Climb TT on Saturday afternoon
  • the Australian Pursuit Race on Sunday morning

Info for Riders

The Sally Anne Low Memorial Race starts on the B9152 near the B970 road junction and heads south to Kingussie where it  turns left onto Duke Street, right onto Spey Street then left onto Station Road. It crosses the level crossing and follows the B970 out of Kingussie. It continues on the B970 past Ruthven Barracks and through Insh to turn left by Insh Hall and descends to Loch Insh. It crosses the end of the loch on the long road bridge and climbs up The Brae to the T junction with the B9152. It turns left here towards Kingussie (one lap completed).  The race continues for most of a second lap with the finish being almost at the top of The Brae in Kincraig, by the entrance to the Ossian.

Eligibility criteria for the Championship below

 

  • 18.1.2 All SC Championships shall be open to: -

 

a) SC/BC members (members of clubs affiliated to SC)

 

b) Scottish Nationals (persons born in Scotland)

 

c) Scottish Residents (persons who have lived in Scotland for three of the last five years)

 

d) Persons who have at least one parent who was born in Scotland.

 

e) Members of the armed forces who meet none of the above, but who by necessity are required to live in Scotland away from their normal residence.

 

Persons in sections (b), (c), (d) and (e) must be members of an UCI recognised Cycling Federation.
